Questions (in english) about Java

Hi,
I've played Java and some rules regarding the Parties (with the cards) are very very unclear. Can someone clarify for me?
1 - It seems that a player can try to organise a party and 2 that then, during the turn of the player who organise the party, people can participate in it.
questions :
- What if there's a tie for the organisation? What happens? What's about the point you earn by organizing a party?
- Is it really a two phase stuff? i mean : is it that you can try to organize and then you make everybody participate.
- end of the game : it's not like in Tikal at all. If you spend 5 action points, and then pick up the last 3sized hex, then you have only 1 action point free. You will not play at all anymore (except for parties)... So that means that the guy who picks the last 3size hex is not advantaged at all. Right?
Thanx for all the time replying my questions :)

I do not own the game, but I have played it at the Essen fair, so I try.

Yes, that is right. A party is an event, where people meet each other, so why not in Java?

A party is divided into two phases: First the active player organizes the party (there is no tie in organizing the party, only the active player may organize one party as the last action of his turn). Then every player, who has men in the same town, may join the party. Joining the party normaly means, that you bet with your symbol cards. In phase two, you normaly play more symbol cards than the previous player. You can althought play the same number of cards as the previous player and offer him a "tie". He may accept it, and than both get half of the points (exactly: the points of the second row on the "help card").

Yes, it is. See above answer.

Yes, I think so. It is a great disadvantage to be the player who has to take the last 3sized hex. But you know that fact and you know, that this will be your last turn, so you should just think of it, as you are the one, who starts the last round. You have 6 action points, where 1 must be used to place a 3sized hex and 5 others should be used to maximize the points you get.

A party is divided into two phases: First the active player organizes the party (there is no tie in organizing the party, only the active player may organize one party as the last action of his turn).
So basically, you cannot win points by organzing, though it appears like yes...
So it's : at the end of a player turn, you organize... without winning points and without playing cards, and then you participate, trying to win points. Right?

Yes, it is. See above answer.
So it's a two phase stuff, located at the end of a player's turn...

OK. That was my thoughts :) Thanx.

Right.. only that you can't organize without having at least one "correct" symbol. I really don't see it as two distinct phases. As the active player, you don't "organize" a party, but you TRY TO organize it by saying where you want it to take place, then everybody else in the same town tries to become the "organizer" by playing more symbols than you. The one who becomes the organizer (the one or the team with the most matching symbols) gets points.

So that means you have to be everywhere in order to party :)
Thanx for your time...
Take care :)
