I enclose the rules of our original game. The theme is changed but the rules remain the same (this format of the game is published in italy by Dal negro).
If you still need some clarification please don't hesitate to ask me.

SAVANA
a roaring card game for 2 to 4 players aged 7 or up
In the nature the balancing reigns; the strongest animal prevails over the weakest, but a lot of weak animals can make the life harder even to the lion, the king of the savannah.
Content
4 role cards (red back)
100 animal cards (orange back):
33 antelopes (worth 4)
26 giraffes (worth 5)
22 elephants (worth 6)
19 lions (worth 7)
Set up
Shuffle the 4 role cards and give one per player face down. With 2 or 3 players the remaining cards are discarded keeping them face down. You can look secretly at your role. Shuffle the animal cards and distribute 5 cards face down per player; the remaining deck stays face down on the table.
Aim of the game
Each player plays the role of a savannah animal.
The animals have different strength, but the deck contains more cards of the weakest animals. Your goal is to make your animal prevailing among the cards entered on the table.
The game
The player in turn must accomplish one of the following two actions:
entering from your hand 2 animal cards face up (no matter whether they represent the same animal or two different animals); these 2 cards are placed in the middle of the table to form different lines of cards, each representing the same animal. In such a way four different rows grow up, one per animal.
or
entering from your hand an animal face down, in a different line which contains only these face down cards.
Then the player draws from the deck as many cards as he’s just entered (to replenish his hand to 5 cards).
As soon as the 3th face down card has been entered, the round is over and the face down cards are discovered and placed on the correspondent line of animals.
Now you calcolate the value of each animal, that is, for each animal you simply add up the value of each card. For example 5 antelopes are worth 20, because each of them is worth 4; or 3 giraffes are worth 15 (3x5); or 2 lions are worth 14 (2x7).
The round is won by the animal that is worth more; in case of a tie, the number of cards prevails. For example 6 antelopes (24 points with 6 cards) beat 4 elephant (24 points), but lose with 5 giraffes (25 points).
When you confirm which is the strongest animal for this round, you form a small deck face up with all the cards played in this round, with the strongest animal at the top.
End of the game
When the last card of the deck is drawn, you go on playing till the end of the round, only using the cards in your hand. If the players finish their cards before the 5th face down card has been placed, the round doesn’t count and the cards discarded.
Now you simply count the number of your cards (that is, all the cards of the rounds in which your animal has been the strongest); the player with more cards is the winner (the other animals are not counted).
