Announcing: Kraków 1325AD !

Beitragvon peterstruijf » 23. August 2008, 20:33

Kraków 1325 AD is a totally new 4-player card game, which interacts with a beautiful hand-drawn mapboard and features a unique combination of team and individual play.

The background is Kraków, the proud capital of Medieval Poland, where four secretive and malicious groups are locked in a power struggle: the Good and Decent Citizens, the Monks & Mystics, the Secret Societies and the Underworld. The players split up into two alliances (teams), which compete for domination through a fascinating card game using special "Intrigue Cards". They try to carry out their own devious plans and to frustrate their opponents’ attempts to gain influence in different areas of the town.

However, there is a hidden level: each player has his own, secret Identity as master of one of the four groups. Through this role, he secretly competes against all others, including his own teammate. And at game end, there is only room for three losers and one winner!

Kraków 1325 AD is the first game of the new Dutch game publisher, Geode Games. The game is expected at the end of September 2008 in English and Dutch language versions.

Read all about this game of strategy and trickery set in a world full of original artwork and a wicked sense of humour, on the (English language) website:

www.krakowgame.com

Please feel free to respond or comment on this site in German, I understand it very well.....

Dear Grzegorz,

there is good news (and lots of hope) for Polish boardgamers - there has been a lot of interest for the game in Poland!

There are two articles on one of the main Polish boardgaming sites - the first one is this

http://gamesfanatic.blogspot.com/2008/08/na-radarze-krakow-1325-ad.html

and there is another one, including an interview with myself....you will find it easily I am sure.

Better still, I have been approached by two Polish boardgame companies, who have shown an interest to publish a Polish language version of the game. I hope to work with them and make this possible before the end of this year!

Many greetings,

Peter

Dear Duchamp,

thanks very much for your enthusiasm ! With a bit of luck, I should be able to bring out the 3-player extension for the game next year (which would be fairly small in terms of size and price, not an attempt to fatten my cashflow at your expense!).

I added the comment about "personal use" just to make clear reference to copyright - since the game is not even on the market yet and all my savings are at stake, you can imagine I feel a little nervous about this sometimes. But many gamers have asked to see the rules to decide if this game is "for them" (eg worth pre-ordering), so I thought to put them out anyway.

In future, complete game rules will be downloadable from the games' own website - certainly before the end of the year after the game has been on sale for a few months.

Tschuss !

Das versteht hier jeder, und die Anmerkung von mir war keineswegs irgendwie ironisch oder witzig gemeint, sondern als ernstgemeinter Hinweis.

Wie sieht es mit Essen aus?

3-Spieler-Erweiterung klingt lekker!

Auf nach Krakau!

Hi Daniel,

I have reached agreement today, that Kraków 1325 AD will be available at Essen through the stand of Reiver Games (maker of "It's Alive"), which is great news. We will be selling at the pre-order price of 35 Euro!

I will be there myself as well, at least in the weekend, for some demos, meet the people and other networking !

Auf, Auf ! Nach Krakau !
