Wanted: German translator for boardgames

Beitragvon Armand Servaes » 6. Juni 2005, 20:03

Vendetta (www.vendettagames.nl) is in search for a German translator of boardgames. We do have plans to bring some of our games to the German market in co-operation with our partners around the globe.

What we are looking for is a real gamer, with at least 250 games at home and who believes that gaming is a passion. You are a native speaker in German and must be able to read and write in English and it would be nice if you were able to speak Dutch. Experience in translations would be useful.

Because of the large files that will be exchanged over the internet, it would be recommended that you have a fast connection to the internet.

Reward: You will receive a copy of every game that you translate for us and if you like it, we will mention your name as the official translator of the game. If you are playing with a gaming group we can mention that as well to promote your group.

If you are interested, please send an e-mail in English to the address above.

Kind regards,
Armand Servaes

er soll sich seine mailbox ansehen, von außen oder wie ? dann sieht er aber noch längst keine inhalte  "into" wäre doch mutmaßlich passender gewesen ? korrigiere mich, wer lust drauf hat  wäre eine simples "please check your emails" oder "you´ve got email" nicht geeigneter gewesen ?

na, das fängt ja gut an

have a look at ist als phrasal verb durchaus korrekt, into wäre hingegen falsch. Umgangssprachlich gängiger wäre "check your e-mail box" sicherlich gewesen (vielleicht aber auch etwas unformeller).

:-)

Thanks for all your quick responses. I even had a response in Dutch! Anyway, I will contact everybody who has sent an e-mail. The translator will be picked from the group who responded up to now, so no further responses are necessary.

Kund regards,
Armand Servaes

In the meantime a decision has been made and three translators have been selected. Thank you everybody who has responded.
