Where marbles?

Hallo!

I writing from Stockholm, Sweden. My German is not good enough unfortunately. I'm developing a simple abstract strategy game with a couple of friends. I need game components. The game has a wooden board and is played with marbles - ie a bit like Chinesecheckers. Two colors 20 marbles each. Intially we'lle need aprox. 8000 marbles.

My question to this group is: Where can I find game marbles? I think they are called "murmeln" or "kugel" in German. Cheap, good quality. I've orderer a few from Jabo Vitro in the US but they were a bit too small and shipping costs were high. The marbles should preferably be 14-16 mm. Any country but preverably in Europe to keep shipping costs down. Once we order larger quantaties mayb India or China will be more interesting.

I'll keep you posted on how things turn out. I think the game will be a big hit because ut is so simple yet challenging.

If any of you know where I can find a good carpenter company I'd much appreciate it. We've been in contact with a company in Estonia but we think there offer is a bit high.

YES, "Murmeln" oder "Kugeln" is right !

Here is a link-site with online-shops for game-material. It's a german site, but you can try the links and see if the shops have sites in english.

But 8000 marbles are much. I really can't say if one of these shops can sell so much of it. But have a try !

Hi Oscar,

please try to avoid ordering marbles from Asia, you are most probably supporting children's work!
Maybe try

or google with "Glashütte", which means glassworks, who often produce very nice marbles.

Hi Oscar,

here is my hint for your problem:

There ist "House of Marbles" somewhere in UK. They have specialized to produce marbles in any colour and any size. Sorry, but I don't have no interent-Adress.
