Hi Toni,

as far as I know, PIT is a 1:1 copy of the earlier released "Zaster".
Another game in the same style is "Remmidemmi" (Goldsieber).

Hallo Michael,

bei PIT ist es glaube ich genau anders herum: die ältere Version ist PIT, ich selbst habe eine ca. 70 Jahre alte Version dieses Spiels.Eine noch ältere Ausgabe gibt es meines Wissens als BULLS AND BEARS, wann diese allerdings erschienen ist, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Parker hat dann unter dem Titel ZASTER dieses Spiel neu aufgelegt. REMMIDEMMI vo Goldsieber ist eine spätere Abwandlung, Unter dem alten Titel PIT ist es dann erneut bei Winning Moves erschienen.

Pit was invented by George Parker, one of the Parker Brothers. The first edition was published in the USA in 1903, so it is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, "modern" card games with special cards.
I've been told that it's based on a traditional scottish game played with two standard deck of cards, but I've no proof of this.

1896 Pit was published by Harry E Gavitt for free as advertisment for his 'WW Gavitt Medical Company' .

Vielleicht kann mal jemand mit Ahnnung oder Zeitschriftenarchiv ein wenig zurückblättern: In einer Spielbox von 1982 steht wohl was dazu drin. In der Pöppel-Revue 3/95 auch (aber da ist das Spiel von Harry E Gavitt nicht erwähnt).

Strengt euch mal ein bisschen an und enttäuscht mich nicht. Ich habe Tony im Spielpalast-Forum geraten mal hier nachzufragen, weil er hier kompetentere Auskunft erhält. Momentan habt ihr ihm leider noch nichts wirklich neues mitgeteilt... ;-)
