new on Mastermoves: * Dominate *

Beitragvon Cwali » 21. Januar 2008, 15:10

On Mastermoves the newest game is *Dominate* in which you try to get the most influense in Africa. At the start both players have 15 out of 30 African countries (some small countries are merged on the map to form an area). You can move from country to country. Merge your counters so that you can take over your anemy's countries.

Try it on www.mastermoves.eu .
You can play in the Piramid, Competition or the Tournament of the Day.

BTW: You can play this game offline on any map with areas. With at least ca. 25 areas it 'always' works. You only need counters, for both players half of the number of areas. The backside of the counters can indicate the prisoners.

Try out different tactics. I made this game and tried a lot, but I still find it hard to 'read the map'. :)

See you on Mastermoves

*Gipsy King*

Beitragvon Cwali » 21. Januar 2008, 15:52

I don't find much about *Gipsy King* in this forum, I hope people don't overlooked it.
*Gipsy King* is released at Spiel-07 in Essen last time. I think we never got so much response on a game at the release. After Essen I looked on internet but didn't find many reactions at first. Not really surprised, it was the same with *Factory Fun* and older games. After the attention in the Essen week it is always a shock with normal life. :) And *Gipsy King* attracts family gamers the most in first instanse, that are not the players who write much about games on internet.

*Gipsy King* is a very easy and fast game. In the reactions I see that reading the rules or getting an explanation doesn't make people interested and think "uh, is that all??". Therefore I only explain the game when it gets played. Then ... for some reason the game is fun, I don't know why.

The trick of the game is the player order. With the passing option. In Essen and other occasions the game was played sometimes without that, just clockwise, with the idea to try it first that easy ... but that is not a good idea ...
BTW: I tried this player order rule in many prototypes, it seems to be good for other games too, but in practice it never went so tricky and fast as in *Gipsy King*.

I didn't see many things go wrong when playing this game. Oh, at a Belgium fair once it was played so that the same player starts at each lake number. So one player had maaaaany caravans played ... but then you could imagine that you do something wrong.

Have fun with *Gipsy King*

*Coach* ??

Beitragvon Cwali » 21. Januar 2008, 16:00

Some of you here know about the soccer simulation game *Coach*. I never released it but it excists already 26 years as 'prototypes', developped parallel to *StreetSoccer*.

I worked more on it last year and plan is to release it on the Mastermoves.eu gaming site. Hopefully before the WM in Austria/Swiss, but I don't know if that will be possible.
A boardgame release I like to do too, but I don't expect that this year.

*Factory Fun*

Beitragvon Cwali » 21. Januar 2008, 16:06

*Factory Fun* is sold out. Though a shop did send back 18 games and I have some boxes with damaged games, so maybe I can sell that.

A new printrun isn't planned yet, and as I told at the release unlikely with this game.

A nice puzzle-version for on computer is in development. Is really fine to play, but there is much to do to make it available online. It is one of the plans for this year.

Hello Corne,

it is not a WM, but a European Championship.

Cheers, Ingo.

*StreetSoccer* for free in magazins ???

Beitragvon Cwali » 21. Januar 2008, 16:24

Magazins and newspaper can print a StreetSoccer board with the game rules, for example at the time of the worldcup soccer. Therefore contact me (www.cwali.nl). People only need to use 5 pawns per team, a normal die, a 'ball' and something as counter. The name can be changed too. In return there must be written at the game field sideline that you can play it on www.mastermoves.eu and that the boardgame is available in shops under the name *StreetSoccer* (and copyright info).

So if you know people at a magazine or newspaper, please forward this.

The game is still in sales, already popular as boardgame and on internet. I think the more people know the game, the better it is. And I think it is the best game magazins/newspapers can wish for this purpose.

yes.
:O
How can I miss this ...
But the important thing is: Holland qualified. And if we win we call it Worldcup.

Hi Corne,

great news.

Maybe, you should contact directly Wieland Herold.
He is responsible for the series "Spiel im Heft"
of the spielbox. In my eyes, StreetSoccer would fit
very well for that.

Best greetings to Oranje boven,
Ingo.

That is possible too, but that are always unpublished games, as far as I know. But before the Euromeisterschaft that would be nice.

Hallo Corné,

was soll man über "Gipsy King" schon groß schreiben?

Hi,

> was soll man über "Gipsy King" schon groß schreiben?

So easy that there is not much to write about. That's right.

> Ich habe es in Essen ausprobiert und fand es wenig innovativ, weil es mir "Titicaca" viel zu ähnlich ist.

To avoid misunderstandings: these games are 'uncomparable'.
The number order on the board is similar to *Titicaca*. But it is a very different type of game. Merging countries was the main idea of *Titicaca*, that is not a part in *Gipsy King*, bidding not too. I didn't compare the games because it would make players expect an other type of game. It's so different that refering to Titicaca will put you on the wrong leg anyway. People who compared it first often told me after playing that it is a completely different experience.

> Wenn man "Titicaca" nicht kennt, mag man allerdings "Gipsy King" durchaus interessant finden.

I experience that players who didn't like *Titicaca* do like *Gipsy King*. It is a game to play with young children and grandparents at the same time. I would not advise that with Titicaca. :)

I wrote in the first message: I will place it in chapters. With the chapters I meant the Beitragen with different titles behind the first message. More clear than one long message, one there are replies.

Grusse,
Corne

PS: I forgot to write about plans for new games this year. But nothing is certain yet, and when I write something plans often turn out to change much. I tried many prototypes last time. I think it will be again a fast, easy but deep game. Okay, so I don't have news about this yet, just can't hold secrets.

Beitragvon Björn-spielbox » 22. Januar 2008, 07:28

The tiles wil not work. Playing pieces too. Unter andere.

But naming Gipsy King and Titicaca together on one computer screen will make people think in the wrong direction. So that is too late now here. It's comparing a shoe with a traffic light.
:)

To all who didn't play *Gipsy King* yet: don't miss it.
Hmm, I think I wrote that here former years too. ;)

Gruss,
Corne

I should not tell, but when you have StreetSoccer and OZooleMio, you can make a Factory Fun and a Gipsy King.
