The rules don't make an exception for it so I would say that it is allowed.
I didn't see such a Rundgang yet. It's very unlikely because:
- The gatehouse plus start-paths-tile is a little bigger than one zoo-tile,
so for a Rundgang um den Eingang you need 5 zoo tiles.
And you need 5 tiles with paths that make such a loop possible.
Then you make 1 Rundgang with 5 or more tiles which is very low.
- A more compact zoo has the advantage that you can make bigger areas
for the types of animals and make more Rundgange.

That's an idea for an extension piece. :-)
By the way: with minimum 4 tiles it's already possible to build your zoo around
the entrance without making a Rundgang. So then visitors have to walk through
the zoo to the entrance (the honoust visitors variation) or you need the extension
piece Tunnel oder Brücken.
