Infos von Boardgamegeek.com:
"First, go to http://www.5stardeal.com. Look for the Super Diamond Clay Composite Chip. They come in sets of 50, in ten different colors, for $0.06 a chip. Get a different color for each denomination.
Next, go to http://www.onlinelabels.com. Look for their 1" circle labels, product number OL1025WX. Get their smallest package -- 100 sheets of 63 labels each for $18.95. That's 3.8 cents per chip for 500 chips, and you'll have infinite extras for making printing errors or buying more chips down the line.
Finally, also at Online Labels, download a label template in Word, Print Studio, or whatever you prefer. Make designs for your chips that include denominations, print, and apply. Voila! You have an attractive and customized set of 500 chips for just under $50. I have 1000 such chips with house crests on them from George Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series; they look great, and have lasted over two years already with no noticeable wear.
Even if you don't want to do the homemade labels, I encourage you to use 5star, and look at their hotstamping options for denominations. More expensive, though, and not nearly as cool."
