In my recent Dota 2 games, my team always ignores Roshan until it's too late. We usually have a lead, but then the enemy team sneaks an Aegis and turns the game around. When is the ideal time to force a Roshan fight, and which heroes are best at taking him down quickly?

Roshan is the most neglected objective in lower-rank Dota 2 matches. People prefer to farm jungle camps rather than securing the most powerful buff in the game. I try to ping the pit, but without a hero like Ursa or Templar Assassin, my team is usually too afraid to commit.

Roshan control is often the deciding factor between a win and a long, drawn-out loss. Generally, you want to look for a pick-off on the enemy mid or carry before heading to the pit. Having a Medallion of Courage or Solar Crest makes the process twice as fast by reducing Roshan's high armor. Don't forget to use a Scan on the high ground near the pit to make sure the enemy isn't waiting to jump in and steal the Aegis. If you can secure the second Roshan, the Aghanim's Shard and Cheese will give your team a massive advantage for the high-ground push.
