hier scheint ein verlag unfaehig zu sein, mit dem autor eine faehlaer freie uerbersetzung von jeweils zwei texten pro karte abzuliefern. mir scheint, dass autor und verlag auf kriegsfuss stehen.
ich werde in zukunft nichts mehr ohne lupenreine pruefung von diesem verlag kaufen.

Eurogames and I
The second edition of Castel seems to have only one troublesome card error - the intrigant. The other cards are correct, or with really minor differences that don't affect play.
It's true that there has been problems. However, I'm rather satisfied of my relations with Eurogames, otherwise I wouldn't have two more games in the pipe with the same publisher. The only problem is with the german translations, and that's why Eurogames games don't sell as well in germany as they sell in France or USA.
The problem with the german translation probably comes from the fact that Uwe Walentin cannot, at the same time, deal with production (which is made in Germany), distribution in Germany, and translation. It's not specific with my games - the german Evo rules had to be thrown away and printed again after the Nuernberg fair. That's why all the Eurogames authors recently insisted that a professional game translator will be hired for the translations of their next games.
I'm absolutely not at war with Eurogames (I am, btw, with my other french publisher, Multisim), and even not with Uwe Walentin, who only had troubles doing everything at once. There has been troubles, but I think things are slowly getting better. The new Castel cards are almost correct, and the german game is now playable - though I suggest you keep your old intrigant card if you get the new cards ;-). The reprint of Dragon's Gold will have the rule error about the wizard-thief combo (both must belong to the same player) corrected. Since my next blue game is made with Michael Schacht , I bet there will be no error in the german text. And Valley of the Mammooths will be translated by another, and more faithful, german game translator.

I even think things are going better, but more personal ist not cheap - thats the reason - uwe told me. And Uwe ist only ONE person who has to do all the work allone.
